Unless stated otherwise, all classes meet once per week for six weeks.

Good Dog Class- Obedience Level 1

Does your dog jump on guests or pull instead of walking on a leash? We will train you to train your dog to be a better companion. Points covered are: Basic cues for dog behavior, house manners, canine health, not to jump, to walk on leash, to sit, to stand on command, to lie down, to come when called, to become better socialized, to be well behaved around others, bonding games and much more. Maximum number of students 10. This class is appropriate for dogs 5 months or older.  

Good Dog Class- Obedience Level 2

We will train you to build on your new knowledge and make your dog an even more responsive companion. Points covered are: Additional basic cues and cues for behavior at a distance, to stay, to heel, to come while distracted, to come from a distance, learning despite distractions, bonding games and much more. Maximum number of students 10. Prerequisite Good Dog Class Level 1 or other beginning obedience.

 

Great Dog Class- Obedience Level 3

Perfect the points you learned in the Good Dog Classes level 1 and 2. Points covered are: working all basic behaviors off lead and at a distance, learning with increased distractions and the perfecting of all behaviors needed to earn the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certificate. At the end of the class you and your dog will have the opportunity to earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate.   Prerequisite Good Dog class level 2 or approval of instructor.   Maximum number of students 10.

 

Puppy Manners

Does your puppy jump, chew and nip? Then this class is for you! The entire family is encouraged to attend this class with the puppy. Socialization, potty training, crate training, beginning obedience and general care is covered. Puppy Manners is for puppies 8- 20 weeks. Maximum number of students 10.

Novice Competition Obedience Class

This is for the dog/ handler team that is interested in competing in obedience trials. This class is geared to train for high motivation and precision. Emphases will be placed on heeling with attention, learning turns and figure eights. Distance and distractions are increased. Hand signals, the stand, and fronts and finishes are taught.  Prerequisite Great Dog class level 3 or approval of instructor. Maximum number of students 10.

 

Trick Class

This is a family oriented class that will focus on teaching dogs to perform tricks. Points covered are: shake, take a bow, high five, roll over, crawl, and much more. Once a week class for six weeks. Maximum number of students 10.   Prerequisite Good Dog class level 1 or other beginning obedience.

 

Flyball

This class is geared to teach you and your dog the fun of the game of Flyball. A relay race for dogs, this exciting game is perfect for the dog who loves tennis balls. Maximum number of students 10.

 

Agility Fundamentals

This class is perfect for all dogs at any skill level, puppy to adult. This class will build specific skills that your dog needs before you begin obstacle training.  Agility is difficult to teach if your dog is running around with a toy, sniffing, mugging you for a treat, jumping on you, or visiting others. If your dog doesn’t know how to focus on you and the task at hand, this can make it difficult to train your dog to go over a jump or into a tunnel, much less chain together obstacles and speed. The foundation skills covered in this 6-week class will make your future agility training and sequencing much more enjoyable!  Maximum number of students 10.

 

Beginning Agility I

Learn how to teach your dog to confidently negotiate agility obstacles. Simple handling skills will be introduced to prepare students for longer and more difficult skills. Training in Basic Obedience is required.   Prerequisite: Basic Obedience or approval of instructor. Maximum number of students 8.

 

Beginning Agility II

A continuation of Beginning Agility I. Learn basic handling skills and techniques to teach your dog how to negotiate sequences of obstacles and simple patterns. Various agility styles and their rules will be discussed. Off-leash control of your dog is essential and successful completion of Beginning Agility I is required. Prerequisite Beginning Agility I or approval of instructor. Maximum number of students 8.

 

Beginnermediate Agility

This class is designed to bridge the gap between Beginning Agility II and Intermediate Agility. With a focus on handling while placing an emphasis on gaining your dogs confidence on obstacles, this class will help you and your dog move forward to independant obstacle performance while increasing your handling skills. This class has a limit of 6 dog/handler teams to allow for more one-on-one instructor-student interaction. Off-leash control and Beginning Agility I and II are required for this class. Prerequisite Beginning Agility I and II or approval of instructor. Maximum number of students 6.

 

Agility Course Runners

This class is open to anyone who has taken both Basic and Intermediate agility. This class will offer a different course each week and will focus on allowing dogs and handlers to navigate a course and have fun, while getting sprinting exercise! Dogs may be run on- or off-leash, depending on dog and handler skill. Prerequisite Beginning Agility II and above or approval of instructor. Maximum number of students 12.

Rocket Recall

This one time seminar will help you to train your dog to come when called. If your dog runs past you or ignores you when you call him, then this is the class for you! Maximum number of students 10. One class session.

Bravery Boost

Do you have a shy dog? This one time seminar will teach you simple tips to help your dog become more comfortable in the presence of other people and dogs. Maximum number of students 10. One class session.

Bringing Baby Home: How to Introduce a New Baby into Your Home.

Are you going to have a new addition to your family? Are you worried on how the dogs with react to your new baby? This is a one time seminar designed to give you strategies and help for the changes that a new baby brings to a family that has dogs. Maximum number of students 10 .
