Introduction to Competition Obedience

Competition obedience is a sport that requires the dog to be focused on his handler. The dog must know how to heel (walk very close to the handler on her left side) on and off lead, they must know how to sit and down and stay while the handler is far away or out of sight, retrieve a dumbbell, a glove and an article with the owner's scent on it. Jumping and recalls are also an important part of competition obedience. Different registries have different regulations for competitions so be sure to read the rules and regulations of the registry that you want to compete in.
